The importance of emotional intimacy in family relationships

The article examines the results of studying the influence of levels of emotional intimacy in middle-aged spouses on marital satisfaction. The characteristic components of emotional intimacy that affect its level are highlighted: empathy, trust, mutual understanding and self-disclosure. The development of additional empathic channels, mutual understanding, trust and an increase in the level of self-disclosure among spouses also have a positive effect on the creation of close and harmonious family relationships.
