Meaning, structure and content of reports of the authorized council for the Russian Orthodox Church in Moscow and the Moscow region A.A. Trushin

The article analyzes the reports of the Authorized Council for the Affairs of the Russian Orthodox Church in Moscow and the Moscow Region A.A. Trushin compiled in the period from 1944 to 1984. These reports are an important and interesting source characterizing the religious situation in Moscow and the Moscow Region. In particular, they contain data on the construction of new churches, the number of parishioners, priests, monks, the work of religious educational institutions, the economy of the church economy, the activities of sects and many other aspects. These documents can play an important and, in many ways, unique role in studying the state of the Russian orthodox church in Moscow and the Moscow Region from the mid-1940s to the mid-1980s.
