Zones of protection of cultural heritage objects: history and today

In the article, based on the study of documents regulating the process of creating zones for the protection of cultural heritage objects, it is concluded that there are certain law-making omissions that hinder the harmonious development of cities and historical settlements. The authors draw attention to the fact that in the 90 of the twentieth century, the need to protect historical and cultural monuments in inseparable unity with historically established territories was offset by the need for their commercial development. It is noted that at present the zones of protection of cultural heritage objects can be adjusted in favor of the interests of the construction industry
