The article provides a review of the results of the first 24-hour «antimonopoly marathon», held by the National Union of Lawyers from August 12 to 13, 2025. The marathon was dedicated to the public discussion of a draft law proposed by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, widely known as the «bill on the introduction of «lawyer`s monopoly». The paper presents a detailed analysis of the speeches by key participants, including prominent lawyers, advocates, and public figures. It highlights the main points of criticism against the draft law: its contradiction with the Constitution of the Russian Federation, the inconsistency of the official arguments, the establishment of total state control over the legal profession, and the deep systemic crisis within the advocacy itself. The review outlines the consolidated conclusions of the marathon participants, primarily the unanimous demand to completely reject the bill, and also presents proposals for a deep reform of the advocacy based on the principles of independence and selfgovernance, and for the consolidation of the entire legal community to protect professional rights.
