The relevance of the article is determined by the tasks of liquidity and competitiveness of products of the woodworking industry. The team of authors raised this issue in a number of publications. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for a systematic approach to assessing the production and marketing activities and the prospects of the assortment policy of the woodworking industry in the context of the economic efficiency of activities related to the harvesting and processing of wood. The changes taking place in the country’s economy, taking into account the constantly expanding list of sanctions, force us to use and adapt more and more new management tools and methods. Given the current situation, it is difficult to find universal content for the organization of business activities. At the same time, every problem in sales activity provokes a financial deficit at any stage of the life cycle of a manufacturing enterprise. The manufacturing sector is characterized by the characteristics of the products, their target consumers and market conditions. In this regard, it is difficult to find standard approaches in management. It is impossible not to agree that the issue of adapting generally accepted principles of marketing regulation requires urgent changes, especially with regard to the processing subcomplex of the economy, the specifics of the region, socio-economic conditions in general and the sales market in particular
