Adaptation of students to study at a university on the example of the discipline «Physical culture and sports»

The complexity and seriousness of the task associated with the scientific justification of the goals, content, means and methods of educational activity determine the transformation of the higher education system to the teaching of natural sciences. The fulfillment of these tasks is possible only on the basis of involvement in the research field of problems caused by the real needs of higher education. The issue of adaptation of students to study at the university is of particular interest. the adaptation of yesterday's schoolchildren is taking place with considerable difficulties, as there is a large dropout of first-year students, a decrease in the quality of educational activities compared to the results of entrance exams, grades in the certificate and the results of the Unified State Exam. As a result, universities face a significant task of finding effective approaches, forms, means and methods of work that facilitate the adaptation of first-year students to study at a university.
