Objective: to study adaptive compensatory heart rate variability in students. The paper presents results obtained through cardiorhythmography. Our research involved 19 apparently healthy young males at the first stage (period between examination sessions) and 13 healthy students at the second stage (examination session period). ECG was being recorded for 500 heart contractions, even breathing, without occasional sighing respirations. Tests were performed on the regular day of studies and during examination session period. Research technique included five tests within period between sessions and five tests within examination session period. Within period of examinations we performed five tests 30 minutes before the examination. From our research we obtained significant differences that showed the influence of working examination load on the heart rate in students. Working examination load can have complex impact on psychophysiological condition of students during examination session and on the very examination day in particular. According to obtained valid data, sympathetic activity indices are increased during examination session.
