Adhesive compositions for joining bituminous-polymer tapes

The problem of stability of the performance of the upper layers of asphalt concrete and polymerase concrete coatings is crucial for transport safety issues. However, when considering these issues, researchers often limit themselves to gross effects and do not pay due attention to the root causes of the patterns identified. This study considers the issues of improvement of the new road-building material for the Russian market - connecting bitumen-polymer tape - not only from a practical point of view, but also with the help of theoretical justifications. They provide a long-term durability of joining the surface layers of asphalt concrete or polymer asphalt concrete, including those formed in different periods of time. The possibility of increasing the adhesive strength of tapes attachment to the side surface of asphalt concrete when forming the conjugate joint at low temperatures was studied. Domestic brands of butadiene styrene thermoplastic elastomers (SBS- polymers) have been considered as a polymeric basis of the mortar adhesion composition. The expediency of application of various adhesive compositions for providing short-term strength of the tape fastening on the sloping surface of the substrate until the hot asphalt-concrete mixture is laid and the monolithic conjugate joint is formed has been considered.
