Administrative and territorial characteristic of Moscow and Leningrad eparchies in 1945-1970

In article on the basis of archival materials, sources and material from science literature shows the features of the territorial location, eparchial fissions and control of the main eparchies (Moscow eparchy and Leningrad eparchy) of the Russian Orthodox Church in 1945-1970. The transformation and changes that were associated with the conditions of a presence of the Church in Soviet society and subordination to the Soviet and Church law are shown by material of the sources of the article. The eparchial prelates who presided over the eparchies were the highest episcopate of the Church and permanent members of the Holy Synod. The Moscow and Leningrad eparchies had their own peculiarities, which are shown and analyzed in the article. The studying these issues is due to the desire to understand the conditions in which the clergy served, which in the future will become an example of the Church’s service to the modern generation of clergy.
