Aggression and violence: expression in modern military films (by a case study of Russian and Anglo-American movies)

The research discusses the ways to express aggression and violence and the forms of their reflection in Russian and Anglo-American military movies representing military personnel as participants in conflicts and military campaigns. The embodiment of creative thoughts and ideas in a movie allows its creator to develop and transmit a particular system of images that turns reality into virtuality and vice versa. Due to the specific nature of the films under review, violence and aggression in them are one of the central concepts broadcast on the screen. At the same time, cultural and ideological contexts offer a fundamentally different interpretation of these phenomena. The author focuses on the differences in the representation of military personnel as well as the importance of creating the right images of them in the context of certain cultural traditions.
