Aerobic methylobacteria of the Baikal coastal hydrotherms (Republic of Buryatia)

Diversity of aerobic methylobacteria in sediments of hydrotherms Zmeinaya, Sukhaya and Goryachinsk situated on East Coast of Lake Baikal was investigated. Six pure cultures of methylobacteria were isolated; it represented by alkaliphilic and neutrophilic mesophiles. The phylogenetic analysis of the 16s rRNA genes showed that 5 isolated were closed to Bacillus (98-99% identity). Only one strain belongs to the genus Exiguobacterium aurantiacum (100% identity).
