The axiological positions of family education are revealed. Within the framework of the cultural paradigm, the status of family values and traditions, their role and place in the education of the younger generation are determined. Family education is presented as a system of interactions between adult family members and the younger generation to achieve the desired results. The axiological attitudes in the study of family education in the context of studying the value foundations of the family institution are determined, family traditions are correlated with the value-target guidelines of public and family education. This position allows us to substantiate the need and importance of integrating the areas of public and family education. The relationship between family values and traditions is revealed in the context of the problems of introducing the younger generation to traditional spiritual and moral values. It is concluded that the identified axiological characteristics of family education allow us to take into account the values and traditions of the family in the process of interaction between educational organizations and families of pupils. Taking into account the axiological aspects of family education will allow to fully ensure the functioning of a single educational space based on the continuity of values and traditions of public and family education, the integration of educational efforts of the family and school, and the harmonization of public and family structures.
