Axiological motives in the philosophical heritage of V. M. Mezhuev

The content of the article is based on the discovery and understanding of the cultural aspect of cultural and philosophical reflection by Vadim Mikhailovich Mezhuev. In order to familiarize the reader with the logic of philosophical searches for an answer to open questions related to the phenomenon of culture, the author pays attention to the specifics of the time parameters of the beginning and end of his professional activity - from “thaw” to modernity. The article reveals the features of the value position of Mezhuev, according to which the gnoseological aspect of philosophy is inseparable from the axiological one. Reliability in the interdependence of the cognitive and axiological in the field of philosophical quest and acquisitions is a “red thread” through all his heritage. And in the hierarchy of values of the philosopher freedom dominates: as an ideal, as a condition of creativity and as a criterion of genuine humanism.
