Axiological foundation of corruption in a modernizing society

This article considers the spread of corruption as a social and cultural phenomenon the causes of which hide deeply in the subconscious of a society. The author revealed a clear discrepancy between the rate in the collective representations and social facticity. The research has found out that corrupt behavior can be determined by value orientations of actors in the modernization of society.
