Axiological approach to the vocational choice

The article provides a brief overview of development of the philosophical and sociological ideas about the value systems, their correlation with the prestige of particular occupations and a vocational choice. The authors show interdependence of the society’s values and the person’s value guidelines in the context of the career choice. The paper makes a supposition that the personally significant, adopted uncritically values are of higher priority in the process of choosing the occupation in the age of adolescence.
