The author continues a series of articles about the history of value analysis in the epic studies and analyses the period covering the second half of the XX century. This time is characterized by the class approach approval to the analysis of the epics values and the consolidation of the party “historicism” principle(V. I. Chicherov, B. A. Rybakov, etc.), but the comparison of the epics codes value and Chronicles was not undertaken, because it did not indicate in favor of their identification. With this approach, the researchers excluded from the field of view the values that were not easy to explain by the specifics of a particular historical situation (compassion, donation, service, prayer, etc.), the structure of the value center of epic heroes, the concepts of love-pity, honor, courage, resistance to temptations, etc. were not studied. The representatives of the historical and typological school (V. Y. Propp, B. N. Putilov, etc.) attempted to overcome the limitation of the party epics ideologization, however, they did not implement axiological analysis of the Russian epic. The best forces of the history were bound by the confrontation of historical and historical-typological schools; Soviet scientists could not reveal the true value-oriented meanings of the Russian epic.
