The article emphasises two interrelated aspects of using axiomatic method in teaching geometry to high school students and two lines of development directed to master them by using axiomatic method. Three successive levels of axiomatic thinking are found in each line. The analysis of implementation of these levels in a geometry teaching practice is provided.
