Mechanisms of antioxidant system activation in Baikalian endemic Eulimnogammarus verrucosus (Gerstf.) under oxidative stress was evaluated. For this study key antioxidant enzymes were used: peroxidase, catalase and glutathione S-transferase. Oxidative stress was induced by amphipods exposition in pro-oxidant humic substances solutions. It was showed that exposition of E. verrucosus in pro-oxidant humic substances solutions lead to significant changes in activities of peroxidase and catalase, however glutathione S-transferase was not changed.
