Intensification of the research activities in the universities of Russia in 1990's

The article deals with development of the research work in the higher education institutions in Russia with consideration for the laws that were adopted during the studied period, which determined integration of science and education. Development of the higher education research is supported by the fundamental researches on social disciplines, sciences and humanities. These researches are the basis for the further development of the Russian science.
