Active learning and collaborative learning: brief literature review

The article is devoted to brief literature review on active learning and collaborative learning. The definitions of these forms of education are given. The main properties of active learning and collaborative learning are listed. The types of educational activities used in collaborative learning are listed: discussion, reciprocal teaching, problem solving, collaborative writing, gaming. Possible reasons of the effectiveness of collaborative learning are presented: socio-psychological factors and the ability to provide a high degree of cognitive engagement.
