Carboxypeptidase E activity in the nerve tissue of rats after the single administration of nootrops

We studied the activity of carboxypeptidase E in the brain and adrenal glands of rats after a single administration of piracetam, phenotropil and noopept in 0,5 hours, 4 hours, 24 hours and 72 hrs after injection. General trends of the activity of carboxypeptidase E were revealed. The highest activity of the enzyme in pituitary gland was recorded in 0.5 hrs after injection; medulla and adrenal glands have responded by the highest activity of the enzyme in 24 hrs after injection. The activity of the enzyme under the administration of the nootrops can serve as one of the marking tests of their possible neurochemical influence.
