The relevance of the introduction of the USB-C connector in the iPhone and its advantages and disadvantages compared to Lightning

In this paper, we have considered and analyzed the issues of relevance and expediency of using Lightning and Type-C cables, advantages and disadvantages in comparison with each other. The features of each type of connector are clarified, a table of technical characteristics of connectors is given, including data on charging power and data transfer rate. The article describes an experimental assessment of the reliability of Lightning and USB-C. The relevance of this topic is due to the demand for the unification of chargers for mobile electronics, which today remains an important issue in connection with the global standardization of products.
