Changes in the education system and the society determine new requirements to the profession of a teacher. The aim of the advanced training system is to provide the teacher’s efficient background. The new conditions require the new approaches and methods of the teachers’ training with application of all the new technologies capable to supply the individual attention to students. The research is focused on the improvement of the teachers’ advanced training system in the Khanty-Mansiysk region. The author used results of the questionnaire on the learning programs of 2011-2012 as the basic information source. The respondents were to evaluate the advanced training programs according to the compliance with personal demands, to name first-priority learning areas, and to designate their needs in professional competences development. The article develops guidelines on improvement of the regional system of advanced training.
