Current trends sustainable rural development

The paper deals with the basic concepts of sustainable development of rural areas, offered by domestic scientists. The study of the fundamental differences between their views on sustainable development, enabled the authors to formulate his own interpretation of this concept in relation to rural areas. The analysis of the structure and dynamics of the labor force in these areas revealed a negative trend that is connected not only with low employment and wages, but also the degradation of social infrastructure.
