Current issues in bilingualism: a review

Current second language acquisition studies in Russia and abroad are reviewed; issues in cognitive and pedagogical aspects of bilingualism are discussed such as language processing in bilingual children and adults, metalinguistic awareness, code-switching, neuroscience perspectives on second language acquisition and on the architecture of bilingual mind as well as some other research problems of bilingualism.
