The article is devoted to consideration of character of public danger of crimes in the sphere of illegal turnover of narcotic drugs, and problems of criminal law in the sphere of illegal turnover of narcotic substances, psychotropic substances and their analogues. The correct understanding of this category and its evaluation is particularly important when determining the sentence regarding the specified group of crimes. The existing differences in the understanding of the category of "social risk", its content and characteristics have a number of problems, both in General and with regard to the type of crime.
