Current issues of forecasting the regional socio-economic development in the strategizing context

The article deals with the current issues of forecasting socio-economic development of the Russian Federation regions as part of the strategic planning, procedural mechanisms for the development of forecasts. Conclusions about the problem areas are made and possible means to overcome them are suggested.
