Current issues in the development of fodder production in Western Siberia

The article describes the ways and reserves for the production of balanced fodder in Western Siberia on the basis of highly productive perennial and annual agrocoenoses. The results of studies conducted in 2012-2017 at the Federal State Scientific Institution “Omsk Agrarian Scientific Center” on the formation of highly productive agrocoenoses with the aim of obtaining balanced hay fodder according to its main nutrition traits through the use of leguminous grasses, as well as new varieties of grain fodder and high-protein crops, are presented. The grass mixtures underwent study in the subtaiga zone and showed significant differences in productivity if compared to the control sample, the output of fodder units amounted up 4.47-4.81 t/ha, which is 15-24% higher than output of 3.88 t/ha obtained from the control sample (red clover + Timothy-grass).
