The role of children's rights ombudsman in criminal proceedings: current issues

Introduction: the article notes the need for legislative and organizational measures to strengthen the role of Child Rights Ombudspersons in the Russian Federation and regions in criminal proceedings on charges of and against minors, puts forward some proposals for these purposes. Materials and Methods: the following materials and methods were used in the course of the study: generalization of investigative, judicial and other practices, analytical, technical-legal, formal-logical, comparative-legal methods. Results: the absence of legislative regulation of the issues of participation in the proceedings in criminal cases on crimes committed by and against minors by the Commissioners for the Rights of the Child in the Russian Federation and the regions was revealed. Discussion and Conclusions: the need to introduce into the criminal procedural legislation norms on the forms of participation of Child Rights Ombudspersons in the Russian Federation and regions in criminal proceedings on crimes committed by and against minors was substantiated.
