Current issues of reparation environmental damage

The article deals with theory and legislation in the field of environmental damage compensation. Based on the analysis of existing theoretical approaches to the definition of the concept of "environmental harm", the current legislation in the field of compensation for environmental damage, the necessity to consolidate the complex concept of "harm caused to the environment" is proved. It is also proposed to determine not only negative consequences for the environment, but also possible actions that lead to causing this harm. The article formulates a number of conclusions and proposals on the improvement of legislation in the field of compensation for environmental damage. The urgency of understanding the essence and legal nature of environmental harm as an important element of civil society at the present stage of development of environmental legislation is being raised in order to form effective legal measures for its reimbursement.
