V.I. Lebedinky's "Irkutsk ostrog" album (1929): historiograpgy and history of creating the administrative center in Eastern Siberia

The article presents the history of creating the album "Irkutsk ostrog" (1929), the life and activity of B.I. Lebedinsky (1891-1972). The historiography of studying historical painting and the main stages of the Irkutsk painter’s creativity are given. The sources used by the painter to create the album have been analyzed. The importance of studying historical painting for reconstructing past events is noted.
