The article is devoted to the study of the allelopathic effect of the widespread weed Polygonum aviculare L. on the early stages of ontogenesis of a valuable grain crop - buckwheat Fagorum esculentum M., which traditionally belongs to glycophytic plant species. It was shown that germination of buckwheat seeds in solutions of sodium chloride of different concentrations with the simultaneous addition of aqueous extracts of Polygonum aviculare L., the germination of seeds and the resistance of buckwheat seedlings to salt stress increases significantly, which may indicate the presence of a stimulating effect of P. aviculare in relation to the ontogeny of F. Esculentum.
