Alternative sources of information in the work of students and translators

The article is devoted to the following problem: is it possible to supplement lexical and term base of a translator (student) by the means of addressing to alternative sources. The most common types of alternative sources are considered. Much attention is given to Microsoft Flight Simulator and Medal of Honor 2010. The following conclusions are drawn: alternative, everyday sources can be useful when working with limited selection of topics.
