The Amideria is considered one of the largest rivers in the world due to its size, abundance and strong currents. The length of this river is 1415 kilometers, and its area is 309 thousand square kilometers. Taking into account the length of the Vash and Pench rivers, this length is 2540 kilometers. The Vakhsh originates from the 4,900 meter Verevsky Glacier on the northern slopes of the Indian Gush in Afghanistan, while the Pamir River, which flows into the Pench River, originates from Zorkol, located in the Pamir Mountains in Tajikistan.
