Amur censor Sergey Taskin and progressive newspaper «Amurskii krai»: a history of confrontation, 1900–1907

The article examines the implementation of censorship in Blagoveshchensk between 1900–1907, focusing on the confrontation between censor Sergey Taskin and Georgy Klitchoglu, editor and publisher of the newspaper «Amurskii krai». This episode from the history of censorship institutionalization in the Amur region demonstrates how gaps in censorship legislation during this period hindered the prosecution of editors, who abused freedom of speech, whether through administrative or criminal channels.
