Analysis of the dynamics and structure of the student body in the system of higher education of the Far Eastern federal district (FEFD)

The results of the study are based on an analysis of the indicators of dynamics and structure of the FEFD student body. We have compared the data for 2014 and 2020, and come to the conclusion that there is a decrease in the growth rate of the student body for the FEFD as a whole, and there is no such a situation in any other federal district. Showing individual branches of science, the largest decrease was observed in the field of “Social Sciences” (46.7%), while for the country as a whole the number of students occupied in this field decreased by 32.9%. A significant decrease in the number of students is registered in "Engineering, Technology and Technical Sciences" (15.3%), a larger decrease is observed only in the North Caucasian Federal District (20.4%). The region-wise analysis of the dynamics of the student body in the FEFD regions showed decrease in all 11 subjects of the district.
