The article examines the impact of the oil industry on the economic development of the country. A list of the main petroleum products was listed and the statistics of proven oil reserves in the world for 2020 were considered. An analysis was carried out showing the change in financial performance and the impact on the markets of developing and developed countries. A list of characteristic features of pricing in the field of oil production is identified and an analysis of the factors that form oil prices is carried out.
