The role of agricultural production in the country’s economy cannot be overestimated. The activity of any organization, including agricultural, largely depends on staffing. Currently, almost all sectors of the economy are experiencing a shortage of qualified personnel. Agriculture is no exception in this pessimistic statistic. In addition, there is dissatisfaction with work among the working personnel of agricultural industrial production, and the share of graduates of training areas in agricultural areas does not allow to fill the existing need for specialists. This article presents the results of a sociological study of students enrolled in higher and secondary vocational education programs in the agricultural field and identifies motivating factors that contribute to the employment of students in an agricultural organization, as well as demotivating factors that, in turn, may hinder such a professional career. The analysis of the influence of the specifics of rural areas, the difficulties of agricultural production, climatic and natural phenomena, the prestige of work in rural areas, the level of wages, living conditions and a number of other factors on the desire of graduates to live and work in rural areas and link their professional activities with agricultural production. The results of the conducted research can be used to develop departmental and organizational programs to support young professionals, since it is impossible to develop effective tools to stimulate employment and further successful work of young personnel in agriculture without taking into account the interests of the latter.
