Analysis of the financial results of the activities of participants in the e-sports industry

The article analyzes the main performance indicators of participants in the global esports industry in 2013-2020. The purpose of the study is to identify the dynamics of the main financial indicators and forecast the development of the esports industry for a short-term perspective. In the process of analysis, we used abductive reasoning, as well as such general scientific methods as a systematic approach, synthesis, generalization. The empirical basis of the study was secondary data published in the open access on the website www.cybersport.ru. Visualization of the analysis results is implemented using Microsooft Excel 2019. Based on the results of the analysis, the dynamics of the prizes paid, the number of tournaments and prize funds are described. The ratings of countries by the size of prize money, games by the size of prize funds and teams by the size of total winnings are compiled. The top 10 teams and organizations of Russia in terms of prize money are presented. The results of the study give an idea of how existing trends may affect the consumption of esports events and awareness of esports in the future. This is facilitated by the compiled forecast for 2021-2022.
