The article analyzes exhibition and fair activities in Russia and abroad, determines market development trends, and highlights the main problems affecting the exhibition industry. At the same time, the trends in exhibition and fair events both in Russia and abroad are studied in more detail. The analysis identified the main problems of exhibition and fair activities. It was concluded that the most pressing problem for business in the world is the state of the economy in the domestic market. At the same time, the most important problems and issues of exhibition industry management by region were identified. Depending on the development of the region and the countries included in it, various problems and issues of exhibition industry management are highlighted in percentage terms. The article emphasizes that in modern conditions, the exhibition industry in Russia has begun to focus on the domestic market, although it also develops the external segment through cooperation with friendly countries. Internal growth is accompanied by competition between regions, enhancing the importance of the strategy of developing regional brands and identifying their advantages in organizing events.
