The climate agenda is becoming more politicized every year. One of the components of climate conferences is their relationship with the world economy, especially with the fuel and energy sector of many countries, including Russia. The article analyzes the foreign policy results of the climate conference in Glasgow, further to which a number of agreements that can change Russia's possible cooperation with a number of countries were signed. The authors conclude that a sharp change in the position of the Russian leadership on the climate agenda is a positive factor, but this is not enough to dictate its terms on the world stage. Cooperation with China and a number of countries of the European Union for achievement the set goals requires more active and proactive position. The climate agenda can become an area where the EU and Russia can overcome a number of differences and act on the base of mutual respect and mutual benefit.
