Analysis of ageism in the labor market: age discrimination

The article substantiates the need to attract pensioners to work due to the negative impact of demographic problems. The reasons for the continuation of work by the elderly are considered. The analysis of ageism or age discrimination in the labor market is carried out: the causes of this phenomenon are identified, the conclusion is made about the influence of the gender factor on age discrimination. In conclusion, the authors concluded that against the background of aging personnel, it is necessary to take measures to prevent ageism in the labor market, work out a system of job quotas for older employees and support employers providing pensioners with jobs. Ageism in the labor market damages the whole society, as it leads to a rupture of ties between generations, leads to an increase in the poverty of older people and socio-economic inequality.
