The clinical phenomena developed after cardiac pacemaker implantation (CPI) were studied and analyzed. As an illustration, the case history of a female patient who developed severe complications including the recurrent non"massive pulmonary artery thromboembolism, secondary antiphospholipid syndrome, and secondary infectious endocarditis with severe cardiac failure were discussed. In this regard, the lifelong administration of antithrombotic therapy and continuing follow-up medical care in CPI patients should be indicated for prevention of the above mentioned complications.

Complications of permanent cardiac pacing, pulmonary artery thromboembolism, infectious endocarditis, warfarin, antiphospholipid syndrome, cardiac pacemaker
