Metric characteristics of biannual shoots systems of Acer negundo L. at the young generative state

Morphological structures of crowns in the three populations of Acer negundo in Belgorod region are analyzed. For the first time, we describe the crown of tree at a certain age state as both a set of shoots and as a set of biannual shoot systems (BSS). We characterize metrically all the types of BSS of the plants in the young generative state. Only two variables define three-dimensional geometry of BSS in A. negundo. These two variables are responsible for the division of all BSS into six types, characteristic to the G1 age. Our typology matches the morphological separation of all BSS by a wide range of linear, angular, temporal and functional parameters. Only two variables code the geometry of the BSS contour in A. negundo.
