Сonflict takes the lives of thousands, not only combatants, but also civilians, sick and wounded, who suffer the most from armed confrontations. International humanitarian law protects the victims of armed conflicts. This article analyzes the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols. We consider the existing gaps in international humanitarian law and how they can be filled.
