Analysis of the features of successful foreign strategies to increase road safety

The article is devoted to the analysis of the most successful strategies in the field of road safety abroad, three of which are highlighted: Vision Zero, Sustainable Safety, Safe Systems. Their basic principles are noted. One of the well-known road safety audit guidelines, Highway Safety Manual, is reviewed, and interest from EU countries is noted. The main similarities of the European and Russian approaches to ensuring road safety are highlighted. Differences are noted, on the basis of which recommendations are formed for adjusting national strategies in Russia in order to increase the level of security.
