The article presents an analysis of such concepts as "a child with disabilities"; classification of children with disabilities; types of families raising such children; social and psychological problems faced by children with disabilities and their parents; the author describes the main objectives and styles of education in families with children with disabilities. The author states the necessity of not only medical, social, but also psychological and pedagogical support for parents of children with disabilities.
