Analysis of the causes of social conflicts in international projects

The globalization of the economy contributes to the growth of the number of projects organized at the international level. By combining the efforts of employees from different countries, the company, implementing such project, gains an undeniable competitive advantage. However, in this case, the risk of social conflicts on national grounds is high, which has an ambiguous effect on the result of joint activities of such employees. Therefore, the analysis of the sources of conflicts in international projects is an urgent topic. In the course of the study, it was revealed that Russian and Chinese employees cite different circumstances as the reasons for situations of social tension. According to Russian respondents, the most common cause of conflict is the lack of trust in employees of other nationalities. For Chinese employees, the main reason for “acute" situations are differences in values with the opponent. The results obtained in the course of the study allow us in the future to take into account the difference in the worldview of the members of the team when developing strategies for resolving interethnic conflicts in the course of joint work on projects and corporate policy of the enterprise as a whole.
