The use of cardiointervalography in the examination of temporary disability in patients with primary and repeated brain concussion

Traumatic brain injury is an relevant problem nowadays. Objective: to improve the diagnosis of mild traumatic brain injury through the investigation of heart rate variability in order to objectify autonomic disorders. Materials and methods: we examined 140 patients with traumatic brain injury during the acute period using cardiointervalography. Results: our results suggest that cardiointervalography helps to identify autonomic dysfunction in patients with mild traumatic brain injury and normalisation of functions in response to therapy.
