Analysis of Problems and Opportunities of the Transition of Domestic Enterprises from Import Substitution to Proactive Import Substitution of IT Business Applications in the Context of Digital Transformation

The objective of the study is to analyze the existing problems and opportunities for the transition of Russian enterprises to proactive import substitution IT business applications in the context of digital transformation processes in the economy. Research methodology: a comparative analysis of scientific research and the established practice of using IT business applications to automate business processes of Russian enterprises and government agencies were carried out within the framework of the digital transformation of their activities in the context of import substitution tasks in the Russian Federation. Research results: based on the results of the analysis, the characteristic features, functionality, and positioning in the market of the main classes of business applications were identified in accordance with the tasks to be solved for automating business processes of enterprises, taking into account their modern needs. Originality and authors’ contribution: the authors developed a map of import substitution of Western software with domestic analogues in such areas of automation as enterprise resource management, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), construction of analytical Data Platform, and reporting systems (BI – Business Intelligence), as well as sales, marketing, and service processes (CRM – Customer Relationship Management and BPM – Business Process Management). Based on the developed map and the conducted analysis, the problems and opportunities of the Russian IT sector in developing business applications for the transition from import substitution to proactive import substitution policy were identified.
